Shocking Video Shows Man Survive Horrifying Sidewalk Explosion in NYC (Image: Screenshot/YouTube)
According to surveillance video obtained exclusively by NBC New York, an underground explosion consumed a Queens sidewalk, sending flames and smoke several feet into the air and wounding a guy who happened to be walking by the grate at the wrong time.
According to the report, Barry West, who was on his way to pay his telephone bill, managed to get up after the blast and walk away in the opposite direction.
With second-degree burns, he was rushed to Nassau University Medical Center, where close ones say he is startled but in great spirits.
