Houston police have released body and dashcam video from the January shooting of three officers near the Third Ward neighborhood.

On Jan. 27, at approximately 2:42 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance call in the 1500 block of Trallee Street. While at the scene, police said the accused person, identified as Roland Caballero, fled from the scene as soon as he noticed the officers.

One officer’s dash camera captured the moment a chase involving Caballero came to an end on McGowen Street. As soon as Caballero began firing at the officers, one of the cameras was damaged, as video demonstrates.

Officer Gadson’s body camera footage captures the moment they exchange gunfire and Caballero flees, carjacking a woman’s car.

Another officer was seen on that video lying on the ground, injured, and screaming in pain. Officer Gadson is seen on video firing at the car Caballero fled in.

That was when he led officers on yet another chase that concluded in a home in the 1800 block of Lockwood, where he holed up himself for hours before being detained by police around 7 p.m.

Caballero was rushed to a hospital with a bullet wound to the neck, according to authorities. He has now been charged with 3 counts of attempted capital murder on law enforcement officers, one count of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and one count of unlawful carrying weapon.
