During an arrest, an Alabama police officer savagely stomped on a mentally ill man’s leg several times, according to distressing witness footage.
The video, which was shot inside a gas station in Huntsville, shows one officer fighting to restrain Kemontae Hobbs, 22, before several more officers enter the struggle.
According to the video, when one police tries to focus on Hobbs’ head and shoulders, another police stomps on his right leg repeatedly.
“Stop resisting!” the officer shouts. According to Huntsville Bail Fund authorities, Hobbs, who has already been diagnosed with schizophrenia, is known to police after multiple past “run-ins” with Huntsville authorities.
Hobbs’ arrest is being investigated, according to a statement issued by the department last week.
