A student was shot at Tanglewood Middle School on Thursday afternoon, and one individual was apprehended in Greenville County.
The school police officer at Tanglewood Middle School called for emergency support shortly before 12:30 p.m., according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, after a student was shot.
According to the sheriff’s office, the gunshot occurred at the front of the school.
The teenage student was rushed to the hospital, but his condition is unknown at this moment.
According to the sheriff’s office, over 100 deputies were on the scene attempting to identify the gunman, whom they suspected to be another student.

According to deputies, the male gunman, a teenager, was apprehended in close proximity to the school.
According to Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis, the gunman is a Tanglewood Middle School student. There is no additional information available at the moment.
Greenville County Schools said deputies aren’t seeking for any more suspects and that the school has been secured.
