In Georgia, two individuals have been detained in connection with the homicide of a 26-year-old mother of 3 who was 20 weeks pregnant with her 4th child.

Breanna Burgess’ body was found by police patrolling in LaGrange early Wednesday morning.

Burgess was stabbed numerous times, according to the department, and her unborn child was also murdered in the process.

Detectives identified two suspects hours after the pregnant woman’s remains were discovered: Curteze Avery, 28, and Shallandra Freeman, 27. Both of them were apprehended.

Both are being jailed without bond after being charged with murder and feticide.

The statement says that evidence of the murder was obtained at the residence Avery and Freeman occupy.

According to the statement, Avery, Freeman, and Burgess have known one other for some years.

Burgess was allegedly particularly targeted by the duo, but police have not suggested on a potential motive.

A GoFundMe effort has been launched to assist with the young mother’s burial expenses.

It was unclear Friday whether Avery or Freeman had entered pleas or retained attorneys to the charges they face.
