President Joe Biden will go to Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Tuesday (6/1/2021) to recognize the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre and to announce new initiatives his administration would take to narrow the racial economic inequality.

On May 31, 1921, a White mob stormed the rich Black district known as Black Wall Street and began to burn, plunder, and murder, killing hundreds and destroying 35 city blocks. On Monday, Biden declared May 31, 2021, a “Day of Remembrance: 100 Years After the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre,” and urged Americans to recommit to rooting out institutional racism.
