A South Florida mom, 36, has been arrested after the remains of her two young daughters were discovered afloat in a canal.

Tinessa Hogan, 36, was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder on Tuesday night, according to press reports.

According to FOX10, Destiny Hogan, 9, and Daysha Hogan, 7, were discovered floating in a canal in Lauderhill, near Fort Lauderdale, on June 22.

According to authorities, residents in the vicinity informed detectives that Hogan volunteered to baptize others in the canal the day before the girls’ bodies were discovered.

On the afternoon of June 22, Destiny’s body was discovered for the first time. Authorities discovered her sister’s death nearby hours later.
