A state trooper reported that all 57 passengers and the bus’s driver, Fermin P. Vasquez, 66, were injured when the tour bus bound for Niagara Falls left the New York State Thruway and rolled over yesterday.

The bus is said to have left the road for an unexplainable reason and rolled over onto the grassy shoulder.

Trooper Tara McCormick said that the injuries varied from minor to serious.

Weedsport Fire Chief David James said that when emergency crews got on the site, they found passengers struggling to evacuate the overturned bus, as well as drivers who had pulled over to assist them.

According to James, twenty-four ambulances and seven different fire units rushed to the accident.
