After a crash on Saturday that injured 15 people, the driver of a pedal pub in Atlanta was charged with DUI.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the crash occurred in Midtown Atlanta on Saturday, and the driver faces DUI charges as well as a business permit violation.
The pedal pub was attempting to turn when the incident occurred, but was going too fast, according to an Atlanta Police Department spokesperson.
“This was a single vehicle accident,” the spokesperson said. “A ‘pedal pub’ with multiple passengers was trying to negotiate a turn but was apparently going too fast and turned over. A number of people were injured but nobody was critical.”
According to the report, all 15 people who were injured suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Chief Jason McClain of the Atlanta Fire Battalion said that while this isn’t a common occurrence, they do train for it.
One witness at the scene said she saw the vehicle flip on its side and that people rushed in to try and free the stuck passengers.
