Two People Arrested for Assault in North Carolina (Image: Buncombe County Sheriff's Office)
Authorities in Buncombe County have arrested two people in connection with an assault on Old Haywood Road on Friday, June 17.
According to deputies, Anthony Lee Thomas, 23, and Kristie Ann Wood, 47, are both being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility on $80,000 bond and have been charged with assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Starnes Cove Road, Eastview Circle, and Old Haywood Road, just outside the city limits of Asheville, according to WLOS .
Deputies do not believe the assault was random.
According to investigators, one person was taken to the hospital. The identity of that person has not been revealed.
There has been no word on a possible motive.
