An inquiry into the pummeling of a 17-year-old guy accused of petty theft by four police officers in a Dick’s Sporting Goods store was caught on camera.
When the incident occurred, a guy who was shopping in the store at the time documented it on his cellular phone. The officers, some of whom were positioned at the mall, had got information of petty theft in another section of the galleria.
The teen sustained injuries to both his eye and his head. Family members of the victim hope that the video emphasizes the importance of extensive training and enhanced action to prevent similar incidents in the future. In the meantime, the family has stated that they are focused on the teen’s recovery.
Police said they managed to recover stolen property from the teen and jailed him for petty theft and resisting an officer with force.
