Two vehicles posted on social media Sunday caught the attention of the NOPD. Video shows a crowd gathering at an intersection as a SUV and black car do donuts as some onlookers filmed. They reportedly kept the wheels spinning till the cops pulled up and broke up the crowd.

The city has lately promised to tighten down on such conduct and the gatherings that occur as a result of it.

When Mayor LaToya Cantrell and NOPD Superintendant Shaun Ferguson announced a new strategic alliance with the Louisiana State Police in April to support local police with troopers, they said it was in part to improve the visibility of patrols along two stretches chronically troubled by illegal drag races: the Claiborne Avenue corridor and the New Orleans East intersection of Downman Road and Cheyenne Avenue.
