A man was arrested after a vehicle was driven into a Walmart in Concord on Friday morning, according to police.
Around 6 a.m., the incident occurred at the Walmart on Thunder Road. The man, later identified as Lacy Cordell Gentry, 32, was a former employee who had recently been fired, according to police.
According to authorities, Gentry drove his car into the store and then continued to drive within it, caused serious damage. When officers arrived, he was allegedly still driving the vehicle.
At the scene, it appeared that the vehicle crashed right into the store’s front doors, causing damage to both the outside and inside of the structure.
Fortunately, no employees or officers were injured, according to police.
Gentry was taken into custody at the scene and charged with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, felony breaking and entering, two misdemeanor counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and other property damage charges.
