According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, on Monday morning, someone fired multiple rounds at a school bus. Police apprehended a lady who is suspected of shooting at the bus, according to FOX 5.

The school bus driver was struck by broken glass when gunshots came through the bus windows, according to authorities.

The report was received by police at 7:15 a.m. on Monday. A stretch of Highland Gate Drive in the Highlands at Bridgegate neighborhood off Johnson Road near Suwanee was cordoned off by officers. Riverside Elementary School is less than a mile away and is literally across the street from Settles Bridge Park.

Investigators have no idea what the motive was or how many rounds were fired.

“We’re just very happy that none of the children were injured in this incident and the bus driver was able to get them out of this situation,” Cpl. William Wolfe said.

Celeste Michele Saunders, 57, of Suwanee, was charged with four charges of first-degree child abuse, five counts of aggravated assault, possession of a handgun while committing certain felonies, and unauthorized discharge of a firearm along a public street.
