Authorities say a 19-year-old woman was shot dead Saturday after allegedly exchanging gunfire with a law enforcement officer at a Juneteenth event in Flint, Michigan, according to NBC.

The Flint woman reportedly drove up and fired at the police officer, according to law enforcement sources.

According to Michigan State Police, the suspect, whose identity was not revealed, perished at a hospital after the shooting, and the officer was unharmed.

According to MLive, no onlookers were hurt and the shooting occurred during the city’s Champions Parade, which celebrates the city’s athletic greats and community activists. June 19 is also Juneteenth, a festival commemorating the abolition of slavery in the United States.

A cell phone video examined by NBC News and confirmed by authorities as depicting a section of the incident showed an officer pointing a weapon at a stopped automobile and stating, Let me see your hands. Hands up.”

The cop opened fire, and the vehicle slowly rolls forward. As another cop seemed to soothe him, the cop got down on his knees and appeared to be in emotional turmoil. It was unclear what happened in the seconds preceding the video’s capture.
