Will Smith had been having a good time posing for the camera before going up on a stage and smacking Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards.
On Sunday evening, Rock, 57, made a sarcastic comment to Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who was in the audience, saying, “Jada, I love you. I can’t wait to see you in G.I. Jane 2,”as he was presenting the Best Documentary Oscar. Pinkett Smith, 50, has been rocking a clean shaven hairstyle because she suffers from alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that targets follicles, likely to result in baldness and hair loss.
The Red Table Talk host appeared displeased, and Smith, 53, orginally started laughing from his seat before springing to the stage and slapping Rock across the face.
The Oscar winner subsequently said during an Instagram video that very same evening that he ended up choosing “chaos” as the description of a video of himself and Pinkett Smith having some fun in their red carpet best in front of a green background.
“Me and @jadapinkettsmith got all dressed up to choose chaos,” the King Richard star wrote, smiling and posing together.
