After reportedly beating up her girlfriend in their West Des Moines apartment, a West Des Moines woman was arrested Thursday night.
18-Year-Old Mariyah Renee Perry was first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident started at around 10:30 p.m. In the 1100 block of 62nd Street in West Des Moines on Thursday, where police from the West Des Moines Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance.
According to court documents, the officers made contact with the woman, who said that Perry “struck her multiple times in the face with her fist.”
The officers noted that the victim had “multiple red bruising on her face.”
Perry told the police that she and the victim had “were having argument and it turned physical,” with them shoving each other, as per court documents.
