According to Houston police, a woman was charged with shooting a man inside an apartment in southwest Houston on Wednesday night.

It occurred soon before 9:30 p.m. at the Crossing at Berkley Square in the 5900 block of North Braeswood Boulevard, according to authorities.

Police responded to a guy down call near South Braeswood Boulevard and Fondren Road, where a guy, later identified as 25-year-old Duwayne Dukes, flagged down an emergency vehicle after suffering numerous gunshot wounds.

Dukes was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but he is expected to recover.

According to authorities, Dukes told officers that a woman shot him at a nearby apartment building. Officers then discovered Vershankski Green, the suspect, with a gun inside a residence.

Green was apprehended and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
