A video of an argument that escalated into a shooting was shared on Social Media. The video shows a woman arguing with someone in the parking lot of Umhlanga’s Pearls Mall.

According to the post, a woman was shot in the neck following an apparent altercation with a passenger in the vehicle’s back seat. Following the shooting, the driver flees the scene, while the victim flees.

Authorities later identified the shooter, who appeared in court in Verulam on Monday 28 February.

According to the Pearls Mall’s management, it is unclear whether those involved were mall customers. The mall’s security quickly contacted SAPS and the Umhlanga UIP for aid in resolving this issue.
