According to court papers, a Monroe Township man is suspected of using a huge potted plant to beat a lady he was dating to death inside a long-term care facility.

Records state that Deymis Jimenez, 32, is accused of beating a lady to death inside the Meadow View Care Center in Monroe at early on Monday. He was later charged with murder.

In court papers, the 47-year-old lady is only known as D.F. A representative for the prosecutor’s office refused to reveal her identity. It is unclear what her connection is with the center, but court documents presented in support of the murder charge state that the two have been dating since March of last year.

According to investigators, the attack was caught on video cameras inside the facility’s common space television room. According to officials, the woman was watching tv soon before midnight when Jimenez entered into the room and turned out the lights.

Jimenez is seen on video choking the lady and forcing her to the ground while lighted by the illumination of the screen, according to officials. Jimenez pounded her skull into the floor and beat her with a 5-foot tall potted plant after she had fallen, according to authorities. Later, the woman was declared deceased.

Jimenez is charged with homicide as well as weapons charges stemming from his apparent usage of the potted plant.
