Three suspects were apprehended after allegedly kidnapping a man, robbing him of $3,000, and forcing him to start dancing in a dress while being filmed.
Betsy Dejesus, 37, Noah Navarro, 39, and Blanca Mejiamedina, 46, were all arrested by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, according to NBC affiliate WBBH.
The complainant was heading home around 6 p.m. on Tuesday when he was flung into an SUV and driven to Navarro’s residence, according to NBC. Dejesus beat, stripped, and robbed the man at his home while threatening to murder him. She also made him start dancing in a dress and videotaped it.
The victim was then taken to Glades County, where the perpetrators threw him out of the vehicle on the side of an unidentified road, according to the media source. The trio continued beating the victim, but he was able to flee to a church nearby and contact 911.
The suspects then fled in their car.
According to WBBH, the complainant was flown to a hospital with severe cranial enlargement. A clip of the guy dancing in the dress was also apparently circulated in the neighborhood.
Dejesus reportedly planned the crime and paid $300 to have it carried out. Dejesus and Navarro were named as suspects by the victim. Mejiamedina was linked to the crime by a witness.
Prior to the attack, the victim stated that he knew two of the suspects.
Dejesus is charged with kidnapping, robbery, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Kidnapping and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon are charges against Navarro and Mejiamedina.
