A young woman held captive and raped in the Bronx is now safe after ordering food delivery with a message begging the recipient to notify the police.

The Chipper Truck Café received a Grubhub order for a breakfast sandwich and burger at 5 a.m. on a Sunday, but the comment under further directions was weird.

It was hastily drafted to phone the police and have them provide meals without making it evident.

“She was basically saying to bring the police with the delivery,” said Alice Bermejo of Chipper Truck Cafe.

Alice Bermejo says a worker called after seeing the order on the screen.

“They’d seen the note on the order, and they called my husband, said ‘what should we do,’ and he was like, ‘call the police, can’t take any risks, better be safe than sorry,'” she said.

Authorities say a 32-year-old man held a 24-year-old lady against her will and sexually assaulted her.

After meeting online, the ‘connection’ became violent in person. She could only use her phone to order food.

Her best hope was to reach a restaurant 3.5 miles away. The Bermejo family thanks the employee who called police.

“Just knowing that like, we were there, and that being open 24 hours allowed her to have a way to get help,” Alice Bermejo’s daughter Alicia said.

The suspect opened up the door, court documents say, thinking the woman’s meal had showed up. It was the cops.

Kemoy Royal, 32, is accused of rape, unlawful imprisonment, strangulation, criminal sex act, and sexual abuse.
